Recording games by using the consol.

Hey, does annyone know about how to record your game by using the consol? I know its possible, because nival couldnt make the trailers without something like this.

you can make trailers without any game console. all you would need is some software wich catches any visual data thats made by you grahpics-card. you can think of it as a virtual video recorder. you could as well connect a real video recorder to your TV-out. but theres also software to do so.

Call me dumb, but where can i get one of these software thingys or do i have it allready?

All i know about my G C is that its a Geforce 2 GTS or something...

Use fraps. Easy to use recording program. Run the game in 640x480 otherwise you wont capture the whole screen. Then use a good application and make it look cool and the encode it with like divx. For cuting, pasting and stuff I suggest adobe premiere 6,5 but it aint free, too bad though!
